I would pack food water Fire tent and a light to signal the helicopter.
Gotta say, you've made a good list for your Tongariro Crossing hike. Nice touch on adding a light for signalling the helicopter - good thinking. One should always think about emergency items they would need in the case something unpleasant happens to them. What kind of food would you want to take on your hike?
