Winter learning Journey

The fern represents the spirit of New Zealand  and the black and white represents the different coloured people because it's a country where anyone can come to.

  2. Kia ora Diego!

Welcome to the Winter Learning Journey blogging programme. It is awesome that you have joined us this year!

Like Dianne, I also really like the flag that you have created. The colours, black and white, remind me of New Zealand. Most of our sporting teams use white and/or black in their names and have uniforms of the same colour. I have recently started watching cricket and the men's team is called the 'Black Caps.' The women's team, on the other hand, is called the 'White Ferns.'

Do you ever watch cricket? It takes awhile to get used to it and it can be quite slow if the teams are playing the traditional 5 day game. However, there are a number of new versions of the game including a 20/20 version that goes much more quickly. I quite enjoy the 20/20 and/or the 'one day cricket' matches rather than the 5 day option. I don't know how anyone has the ability to stay focused or to concentrate enough to play the same game every day for five days in a row without stopping. Do you think that you could do it?

    Cheers :)
